
Dr Lynn Kleinveldt
Dr. Lynn Kleinveldt, originally from Cape Town, South Africa, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, Canada. With 19 years of experience in academic libraries, she brings deep insight into the evolving roles of librarianship in higher education.
Her research interests span Teaching with Technology in Higher Education, Embedded Librarianship, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Most recently, her work has focused on promoting student success through the integration of AI literacy and competency development across two Canadian universities—positioning her at the intersection of pedagogy, information science, and emerging technologies.
Dr. Kleinveldt has actively contributed to the international library community. She served as a Standing Committee Member of the IFLA Information Technology Section from 2017 to 2023, and was Chair of the Higher Education Libraries Interest Group (HELIG) under the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA) from 2021 to 2023.
Her work reflects a commitment to innovation, student-centered learning, and the future-readiness of academic librarianship.
