 Ms. Chitundu Precious Chisunka

Chitundu P. Chisunka is a PhD candidate in the Department of Information Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, under the supervision of Professor Zawedde. She is currently on study leave from her role as a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Zambia.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology, Management and Organisational Change (ITMOC) from Lancaster University, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science and Public Administration (BALIS) from the University of Zambia.

Her research interests lie in the social dimensions of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), particularly in the contexts of education, school libraries, health information, and legal records management. She also explores the role of information systems and artificial intelligence in higher education, with a focus on their potential to solve real-world challenges.

Her doctoral research focuses on e-Governance, with a specific emphasis on e-recruitment within the public service sector, aiming to support the Zambian government’s strategic move toward a smart and digitally-enabled public administration.

Chisunka is passionate about harnessing the power of ICTs to enhance public service delivery and information accessibility in developing contexts.

Proposed Curriculum for Library and Information Science (LIS) education to meet the emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI)
