Dr Roshini Pather

Dr. Roshini Pather serves as the Portfolio Manager for Core Services and Special Collections at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Library Services with over 30 years experience in academic library leadership positions. In this role, she provides strategic leadership, manages staff, budgeting, operations, and library facilities.

She holds a PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2017, a Master’s degree in Information Studies, summa cum laude in 2004, B.Bibl Honours from Unisa in 1995 and B.Bibl from the University of Durban-Westville. . Her professional interests include space management—both physical and virtual—along with evolving user needs, data management, digital archiving and the preservation of special collections.  Notably, during her tenure, she secured funding for the Research Commons at Edgewood and Medical School Libraries, and led a major project on digitising the theses and Special collections, and single-service point in Libraries.
