
Prof Zawedde Nsibirwa
Prof Zawedde Nsibirwa (PhD, University of KwaZulu-Natal) is an Associate Professor in the Information Studies Programme within the School of Social Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. She coordinates the Master’s programme in Information Studies and serves on the advisory board of the Alan Paton Centre and Struggle Archives. Previously a member of the editorial board of Innovation: Journal of Appropriate Librarianship and Information Work in Southern Africa, she currently serves on the editorial board of the South African Journal of Libraries and Information Science.
Prof Nsibirwa has supervised numerous Master’s and PhD students—both locally and internationally—across a variety of research projects in different African countries. Her research interests include the preservation of cultural heritage, legal deposit legislation, and the management of records and archives. She has published extensively in the field of Information Science, with a strong focus on her areas of specialization.
